How we work...

As director of 32° East, Teesa supports the development and execution of projects such as KLA ART Labs for research and critical thinking through public practice, KLA ART, Kampala's Public art festival and international residency exchanges. She is currently overseeing 32° East's capital project, raising funds for the phase 2 of the first purpose-built art center in Uganda. The session took on the form of conversation as a way to enter, engage with and understand the critical role of an arts manager in the visual arts ecosystem.

Some of the thoughts interrogated during this session include; what arts managers do, what they have wanted to do but haven’t been able to? What work ethics are involved, what values one should hold for their work such as self care, creating a good work environment, casting the right vision and staying focused on it, building a support system around one’s work and functioning in multiple spaces.
